Welcome to MetadataFx! This guide will walk you through the basics of selecting media and understanding the main screen.
How to Select Your First Photo or Video
The first step to editing metadata is to select the media you want to modify.
- When you first open the app, you'll see a welcome message.
- Tap the "Pick Media" button at the bottom of the screen.
- Your photo library will appear. Tap on the photo(s) or video(s) you wish to edit.
- If you have the Pro version, you can select multiple items. The free version is limited to one item at a time.
- Tap "Add" or "Done" to confirm your selection.
You will then be taken to the main editing menu where you can choose what you'd like to change.
Understanding Photo Library Permissions
For MetadataFx to work, it needs permission to access your photo library.
- Full Access: Allows the app to view and modify all photos and videos in your library.
- Limited Access: Allows you to select specific photos and videos that the app can access. If you choose this, you may need to grant access to more photos later. You can always manage the selection by going into the app's settings.
- No Access: If you deny access, the app will not be able to function. You can grant permission at any time by going to your device's Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos > MetadataFx and changing the selection.
