Image Converter uses the original file name as the starting point for converted files and changes the extension to match the selected output format.
Examples
photo.jpgconverted to PNG becomesphoto.pngscreenshot.pngconverted to JPEG becomesscreenshot.jpegdesign.tiffconverted to BMP becomesdesign.bmpimage.pngconverted to JP2 becomesimage.jp2
Single mode
In Single mode, the save dialog suggests a converted file name automatically. You can change the file name or save location before saving.
Bulk mode
In Bulk mode, Image Converter asks you to choose a destination folder. Each converted image is saved into that folder using the original base file name and the selected output extension.
Are original files changed?
No. Image Converter creates converted output files and does not modify the original files during normal use.
If a file already exists
If a converted output file with the same name already exists in the destination folder, the save operation may replace that file. To avoid replacing files, choose an empty destination folder or rename existing files first.
