Welcome to Chessic, a forge-themed strategy puzzle game for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Strike squares on a 6×6 board, follow each piece's move to your next strike, and clear every square to forge the board.
What is Chessic?
Chessic is a puzzle game built on chess-style movement. Every square on the board holds a piece: a number, a bishop, a rook, a knight, a queen, or a wildcard. After you strike a square, the piece you struck decides where your next strike can land. Plan a route that wears every square down before the forge cools.
You do not need to know chess to play. Chessic explains every piece in its tutorial and in How to Play.
Requirements
- iPhone or iPad running iOS/iPadOS 17.2 or later, or a Mac running macOS 14.2 or later
- A Game Center account for duels, leaderboards, and achievements (single-player forging works without one)
- An Apple Account signed in to iCloud if you want your record and statistics to follow you between devices (optional)
Quick Start
Step 1: Open Chessic
Install Chessic from the App Store and open it. Home shows the two ways to play, Single Player and Duel, along with How to Play, Records, and Settings.
Step 2: Learn the forge
The first time you open a forge, Chessic offers a short tutorial titled New Rules!. Choose Learn to play through the basics on a guided board, or Skip to go straight to a full board. You can start the tutorial again at any time from How to Play > Learn by playing.
Step 3: Choose a forge
Choose Single Player, then pick a forge. Apprentice is the first forge; each forge after it adds new pieces. Finishing a board in a forge unlocks the next one.
Step 4: Strike and clear the board
- Tap or click any square to make your first strike.
- Gold marks show the squares you can strike next. Tap one to continue your route.
- Every square takes three strikes. The third strike clears it.
- Clear every square to forge the board. If no gold marks remain, the forge cools and the board ends.
Main Areas
Single Player
Four forges, from Apprentice to Master. Your final score combines strike points, bonuses, and the time score. See How to Play Chessic for the complete rules.
Duel
Play a real-time duel against another Game Center player on the same board. Both players have five minutes, and the higher score wins. See Duels and Duel Rating.
Records
Records shows how your boards ended in each forge, your best scores, fastest boards, streaks, and your duel record. With Chessic Unlimited, Records also opens statistics, game history, and full replays.
Settings
Settings controls music and sound effect volume, the Play of the Game replay, Chessic Unlimited, and shows your Game Center status.
What Is Free?
The tutorial, the Apprentice and Journeyman forges, Quick Duel, your record, achievements, leaderboards, and the Play of the Game are free. Chessic Unlimited is an optional one-time purchase that adds the Artisan and Master forges, choosing your duel forge, statistics, history, and replays. Chessic has no ads.
