Chessic can show the best moment of every game, and with Chessic Unlimited you can replay any game in your history strike by strike.
Play of the Game
When a forge or duel ends, Chessic picks your best moment and plays it on the board before the results. The strikes in the play are numbered, the board around them is dimmed, and the key strike plays in slow motion. Choose Skip (or press Escape on a Mac) to go straight to the results.
A play can be, for example:
- Chain: a long run of the same piece, such as Knight Chain ×5 or Chain of 3s ×7.
- Stacked Strike: one strike that lands several bonuses at once.
- Royal Run or Perfect Sequence.
- Layer Finisher: a quick route to a layer clear.
- Hot Streak: your best burst of strikes.
- Took the Lead or Clutch Finish: the strike that won a duel.
Plays are chosen by how rare they are, not just by points. Every game with a strike has a play, including cooled boards and lost duels.
The Play of the Game card
The results show a free Play of the Game card with a diagram of the play. Choose Watch Again to replay it, or Share to share a picture of it. The picture does not include player names.
Turning it off
Open Settings > Games and turn off Play of the Game. The results still show the card.
There is no Play of the Game replay after a tutorial, after a duel without any of your strikes, or after a duel you forfeit by leaving the app.
Full Replays
With Chessic Unlimited, you can replay any game in your history:
- From the results, choose Watch Replay.
- From Records > History, open a game and choose Watch Replay.
- From statistics, choose Watch on a best to jump to that moment.
Replay controls
- Play and pause.
- Step back and step forward one strike at a time.
- Jump to the previous or next layer.
- Drag the scrubber to any strike. Ticks mark each cleared layer.
- Change the speed: ½×, 1×, 2×, or 4×.
On a Mac, press Space to play or pause, the Left and Right Arrow keys to step, and Option-Left Arrow or Option-Right Arrow to jump between layers.
Choose Close at the top of the board, or press Escape, to leave the replay. Leaving the app pauses playback.
Duel replays
A duel replay shows your board with your opponent's score as it arrived during the duel, and both final scores at the end.
Where Replays Are Stored
Replays are part of your game history, which stays on the device where you played. The history keeps your latest 100 games plus up to 20 games you choose to keep. See Records, Statistics, and History.
