Chessic uses Game Center for duels, leaderboards, and achievements. Single-player forging, your record, and Chessic Unlimited all work without Game Center.
Signing In
Chessic asks you to sign in to Game Center when it opens. If you dismissed the sign-in, sign in from the system instead:
- iPhone and iPad: open the Settings app, choose Game Center, and sign in.
- Mac: open System Settings, choose Game Center, and sign in.
Chessic's Settings page shows Signed in as your Game Center name, or Not signed in.
Leaderboards
- Apprentice, Journeyman, Artisan, and Master: your best single-player score in each forge. A score is submitted when a board is forged or cools.
- Duel Rating: your current duel rating. Open it from the Duel page.
Open the leaderboards from the Game Center button on Home.
Achievements
Chessic has achievements for learning the forge, forging boards in each forge, fast boards, long chains, high scores, clearing parts of the board, piece-focused boards, and playing on several days of the same week. Open them from Records > Achievements.
- Achievements are earned only while you are signed in to Game Center.
- Some achievements track progress over several games, such as Ten Forges or Weekly Smith.
- Weekly achievements, such as Daily Heat, Three-Day Forge, and Weekly Smith, count days within the same week on the device where you play.
Challenges and Activities
Game Center challenges and activities can open a forge directly. If a board is in progress, Chessic asks before replacing it. Forge locks still apply, so a locked forge stays locked.
Duels
Duels use Game Center matchmaking and invitations. See Duels and Duel Rating.
Privacy
Game Center shows your scores, rating, and achievements to other players according to your Game Center privacy settings. Chessic does not store Game Center player identifiers in your game history.
