Export PDF pages as images
PDF Split & Merge can export PDF pages as image files instead of PDF files.
Export pages as images
- Open PDF Split & Merge.
- On Mac, select Split PDF in the sidebar. On iPhone and iPad, select Split.
- Click or tap Choose PDF..., or drag a PDF into the drop area.
- Under Export, choose Images.
- Choose an image Format.
- Enter the output Width in pixels.
- Under Pages, choose All pages, Single page, or Page range.
- Click or tap Split PDF....
- On Mac, choose the output folder. On iPhone and iPad, wait for processing to finish and then choose a destination in the Files export sheet.
Supported image export formats
iPhone and iPad support PNG and JPEG. Mac supports PNG, JPEG, GIF, TIFF, BMP, and JP2.
Image size
The Width setting controls the exported image width in pixels. The default is 1024 pixels, and the value must be greater than zero. The height is calculated automatically so the PDF page keeps its original proportions.
On iPhone and iPad, exported images are saved through Files. They are not added directly to the Photos library.
Output file names
Image files use the original PDF name and page number. For example:
Document - Page 1.png
Tips
- Use PNG for sharp text and screenshots.
- Use JPEG for smaller photo-heavy pages.
- Increase the width for higher-resolution output.
- Decrease the width for smaller files.
