Split and merge a page range into one PDF

The Auto-merge range into one PDF option lets you extract a page range and save it as a single new PDF.

When to use this

Use this option when you want to create a smaller PDF from part of a larger document, such as pages 3 through 8 of a report.

Create one PDF from a page range

1. Open PDF Split & Merge.
2. On Mac, select Split PDF in the sidebar. On iPhone and iPad, select Split.
3. Click or tap Choose PDF..., or drag a PDF into the drop area.
4. Under Export, choose PDF files.
5. Under Pages, choose Page range.
6. Enter the From and To page numbers.
7. Turn on Auto-merge range into one PDF.
8. Click or tap Split and Merge PDF....
9. On Mac, choose a file name and save location. On iPhone and iPad, wait for processing to finish and then choose a destination in the Files export sheet.

Default file name

The app uses a name based on the original PDF and selected range, such as:

Document - Pages 3-8.pdf

Important notes

• Auto-merge is available only when exporting as PDF files.
• Auto-merge does not apply to image exports.
• The page range must be valid and within the document page count.
