Use this guide to solve common Coindrel issues. If you still need help, submit a support request with your device, OS version, the Coindrel version shown at the bottom of Settings, and the exact message you saw.
Playing a Match
My drop isn't accepted
- Check that it is your turn. Drops are accepted only while your clock is running.
- Wait for the cascade or round reveal to finish.
- On iPhone and iPad, lift your finger on the board. Lifting off the board cancels the drop.
- If the match is paused, close the menu and choose Resume.
- On Mac, click the board first if the number keys don't respond.
Coins dropped in an entry I didn't choose
If the turn clock reaches zero, Coindrel drops your coin in a random entry. Choose a longer time per turn, or use Turbo only when you want very fast turns. Replays mark these drops Timed out.
The board is hard to read or the entries are too small
Turn on Settings > Accessible layout for a scrollable match screen with large drop buttons. VoiceOver users can use Read the board or Board Details to hear every switch and exit.
Saved Matches
My saved match is gone
- Coindrel keeps one saved Solo or Pass & Play match. Starting another Solo or Pass & Play match replaces it.
- If a saved match can't be loaded, Coindrel deletes it and shows "Saved match removed" at launch.
- Saved matches stay on the device where they were played; they don't sync to other devices.
A Solo match counted as a loss
Restarting an unfinished Solo match, or starting a new Solo or Pass & Play match over it, counts as a loss once a coin has been dropped. To keep a match for later, choose Save & Quit to Home.
Online Play
I can't sign in to Game Center
- Sign in to Game Center in the system settings, then return to Coindrel and choose Sign in to Game Center again.
- If Coindrel says multiplayer is restricted, check the Game Center and Screen Time restrictions for your account.
- On Mac, keep the Coindrel window in front while signing in or matchmaking. If asked, return to the game window and try again.
Quick Match can't find an opponent
- Wait a little longer. Quick Match widens its search after a few seconds.
- If Coindrel says Quick Match isn't available right now, try again later.
- Make sure both players have the latest version of Coindrel.
- Challenge a friend or play Solo in the meantime.
My Quick Match wishes weren't applied
A variant applies only when both players want it. When your opponent didn't ask for one, the match uses standard rules for it, and the rules screen says so.
My friend didn't receive the invitation
- Make sure you are Game Center friends and both signed in.
- Make sure both devices have the latest version of Coindrel.
- Your friend must finish or leave any other online duel before accepting.
The match ended with No Contest
The devices lost their connection, or couldn't agree on the board, for more than 30 seconds in total. No Contest doesn't count in your record or change your rating. Use a stable Wi-Fi or cellular connection, and avoid leaving the app during online duels.
My rating hasn't appeared in Game Center
If the results show "Not on Game Center yet", Coindrel sends your rating again after your next rated match or the next time you sign in to Game Center. Leaderboards can take a little time to update.
Nearby Play
The host doesn't appear in the list
- Keep both devices close together, unlocked, and on the Play Nearby screen.
- Turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on both devices. With a Mac, Wi-Fi must be on.
- Allow Local Network access for Coindrel in the system's Privacy & Security settings on both devices.
- Make sure both devices have the latest version of Coindrel.
- Ask the host to choose Stop Hosting, then host again.
Two duels are listed
Choose the one whose code matches the code on the host's screen.
"Couldn't join that duel"
Choose the duel again, or ask the host to stop hosting and start again. A host accepts only one player at a time.
Records and Statistics
My record differs between devices
- Sign in to the same Apple Account with iCloud turned on, on each device.
- Open Coindrel on each device with an internet connection and give iCloud a few minutes to sync.
- Match history and replays stay on the device where the match was played; only the record and statistics sync.
"Match history cleared"
Coindrel couldn't read the match history file on this device, so it started a new one. Your record and statistics are unaffected.
"Replay unavailable: recorded with earlier rules"
The match was recorded under an earlier version of Coindrel's rules, so this version can't replay it. Its scores remain in your history.
A Watch button is missing from a best
Watch appears only while that match is still in your match history. Keep matches you want to rewatch; up to 20 can be kept.
Purchases
Coindrel Unlimited isn't unlocked on another device
- Use the same Apple Account for the App Store on both devices.
- Open Settings and choose Restore Purchases.
- If Coindrel says no previous purchase was found, check that you are signed in with the account that bought it.
The purchase is waiting for approval
Ask to Buy is on for your account. Coindrel Unlimited unlocks automatically once a family organizer approves it.
"Couldn't reach the App Store"
Check your internet connection and try again. You can keep playing in the meantime.
Sound and Haptics
- Check that Settings > Sound effects is on.
- On iPhone and iPad, Coindrel follows the silent switch. Turn off silent mode to hear sounds.
- Haptics require Settings > Haptics and a device that supports them. Mac has no haptics option.
