Seed Truck can send magnet links and .torrent files to configured Transmission or qBittorrent clients from iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Before Adding a Torrent
Configure at least one server in Settings > Servers. Seed Truck cannot start a download without a destination server.
Add from iPhone or iPad
- Open Torrents.
- Choose Add Torrent.
- Choose Magnet Link or Torrent File.
- Enter the magnet link or select one
.torrentfile. - Review the Add Torrent screen and choose Start Download.
You can also open a .torrent document or a magnet: URL from another app. Drag and drop accepts one torrent item at a time.
Add from Mac
Open a .torrent file with Seed Truck, or open a magnet: URL with Seed Truck, to display the Add Torrent window.
Choose Destination Servers
An item started from the selected server's torrent list uses that server as its destination. An externally opened item can be sent to one or more configured servers under Download To.
If only one server is configured, Seed Truck selects it automatically. With multiple available servers, select at least one before choosing Start Download.
When multiple servers are selected, Seed Truck sends the add requests to each destination. If some requests succeed and others fail, successful additions are not rolled back. The error identifies each server that reported a failure.
Labels and Tags
Seed Truck presents both Transmission labels and qBittorrent tags as labels in the add interface.
- For Transmission, available names come from labels already used by torrents on that server.
- For qBittorrent, available names come from the server's registered tags.
- With multiple destinations, only names available on every selected server are shown.
- Changing the selected destinations clears the current selection and loads the new shared list.
- If Seed Truck cannot load labels or tags for every destination, the optional Labels section is not shown.
Seed Truck selects existing labels or tags from this screen; it does not create new ones.
Torrent File Import Limits
These limits apply to the encoded .torrent metadata, not to the size of the files the torrent will download:
- Maximum encoded torrent file size: 16 MiB
- Maximum bencoded nesting depth: 64
- Maximum parsed bencode nodes: 100,000
- Maximum files in a multi-file torrent: 25,000
- Maximum path components for each file: 128
- Maximum decoded name or path-component text: 4,096 UTF-8 bytes
Seed Truck reports an import error when the file is unreadable, has an unsupported type, exceeds a limit, or contains malformed or overly complex metadata.
Seed Truck Is a Remote Client
Choosing Start Download sends the magnet link or metainfo to the selected remote client. The remote client downloads and stores the payload files; Seed Truck does not download those files to the Apple device.
