Widget Configuration
Most widgets can be configured directly from the system widget editor after you add them.

- Portfolio timeframes: The Portfolio widget can show two timeframe rows. Options include Today, WTD, MTD, YTD, 1Y, 5Y, and All-Time.
- Performance metrics: The Performance widget can show Daily Gain, Daily Return, All-Time Gain, or All-Time Return.
- Chart range: The Portfolio Chart widget supports WTD, MTD, YTD, 1Y, 5Y, and Max. 1D is not available for chart widget range selection.
- FIRE: The FIRE widget uses the FIRE calculator settings saved in Scaryfolio.
How Widgets Update
The system controls when widgets update. For the newest data, open Scaryfolio and refresh portfolio data. Allow Scaryfolio to run in the background where applicable.
On Mac, Scaryfolio uses a background helper login item to refresh widget data when the app is not active. Check its status in Scaryfolio Settings > Troubleshooting. The helper must be allowed in System Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions.
Widget data can be affected by Scaryfolio settings such as Show Net Worth, Exclude Uninvested Cash, Investment-Based Returns, Portfolio Summary metrics, Show N/A options, chart settings, and FIRE settings. After changing these settings, open or refresh Scaryfolio to update the widgets.

- Confirm Ghostfolio has portfolio data.
- Try a different widget size.
- Open Scaryfolio and refresh the Portfolio tab.
Privacy Note
Widgets can display portfolio values where other people may see them. Widget content is marked as privacy-sensitive, so the operating system may redact it on supported surfaces or device states. Remove widgets from visible screens if you do not want financial amounts shown outside the app.
