Scaryfolio integrates with Apple Spotlight so you can search for Ghostfolio accounts from the system search interface and open them directly in Scaryfolio.
For Siri, Apple Shortcuts, and App Shortcut actions, see the App Shortcuts help article.
Requirements
- Scaryfolio installed on a supported iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
- Scaryfolio connected to Ghostfolio.
- Account data loaded in Scaryfolio at least once.
Spotlight Account Search
After account data has loaded, Scaryfolio can index your Ghostfolio accounts for Apple Spotlight. This lets you search from Spotlight or system search and open an account directly in Scaryfolio.
What Spotlight Can Find
- Account names
- Account currencies
- Account value where available
- Cash balance where available
- Scaryfolio-related keywords such as Account, Account Value, and Cash Balance
How to Use Spotlight
- Open Scaryfolio and make sure your account data has loaded.
- Open Spotlight or system search.
- Search for Scaryfolio, an account name, a currency, or a relevant account keyword.
- Select the account result to open it in Scaryfolio.
Accounts marked as excluded from analysis and synthetic no-account entries are not indexed for Spotlight. If there are no searchable accounts, Scaryfolio removes its account search index.
Troubleshooting
Spotlight Does Not Find an Account
- Open Scaryfolio and refresh account data.
- Confirm the account is not excluded from analysis.
- Wait for the system Spotlight index to refresh.
- Try searching by account name, currency, Account, Account Value, Cash Balance, or Scaryfolio.
An Old Account Still Appears
Open Scaryfolio and refresh account data. Spotlight indexing is managed by the system, so removed or changed accounts can take time to disappear from search results.
Privacy Note
Spotlight results can display financial account information outside the main Scaryfolio interface. Be careful when using Spotlight on shared devices or where others can see your screen.
