The Watchlist tab lets you track securities from your Ghostfolio watchlist. With Scaryfolio Pro, you can also add and remove watchlist items directly from Scaryfolio.
Requirements and Availability
- Scaryfolio must be connected to Ghostfolio.
- Viewing the watchlist depends on your Ghostfolio instance and API access.
- Adding and removing watchlist items requires Scaryfolio Pro.
- On Ghostfolio Cloud, some watchlist operations may require Ghostfolio Premium.
- On self-hosted instances, availability depends on your Ghostfolio version and configuration.
Viewing Watchlist Items
The Watchlist tab can show each item's name, symbol, and distance from all-time high where Ghostfolio provides that data.
With Scaryfolio Pro, Settings > View Options > Show Symbol First changes whether ticker symbols or names are emphasized first in Watchlist, Markets, and Holdings.
Sorting the Watchlist
You can sort watchlist items by:
- Name
- Symbol
- % from ATH
You can also switch between ascending and descending order.
Adding Watchlist Items
Requires Scaryfolio Pro
- Open the Watchlist tab.
- Tap or click the add button.
- Search by ticker symbol or company name.
- Select a search result to add it to your Ghostfolio watchlist.
Search results depend on your Ghostfolio instance and configured data sources. If no results appear, try another ticker symbol, company name, or verify the symbol exists in Ghostfolio.
Removing Watchlist Items
Requires Scaryfolio Pro
Watchlist removal is available from contextual menus. On iPhone and iPad, touch and hold a watchlist item, then choose Delete. On Mac, right-click or Control-click a watchlist item, then choose Delete.
Watchlist Item Details
Open a watchlist item to view details such as:
- Performance chart where available
- Name and symbol
- All-time high performance
- All-time high date
- Market condition where available
- 50-day and 200-day trend indicators where available
Watchlist item detail charts support WTD, MTD, YTD, 1Y, 5Y, and Max. If 1D is selected elsewhere in the app, watchlist details use WTD because 1D symbol detail chart data is not available.
Chart availability depends on your Ghostfolio instance, data source, and API access. Ghostfolio Cloud may require Ghostfolio Premium for some symbol or chart data.
Refreshing Watchlist Data
- Watchlist data loads when you open the Watchlist tab.
- Watchlist refreshes again after it has been idle for about one hour.
- You can manually refresh supported Watchlist views.
Troubleshooting
Watchlist Not Available
- Refresh the Watchlist tab.
- Check your connection in Settings.
- For Ghostfolio Cloud, check whether watchlist API access requires Ghostfolio Premium.
- For self-hosted Ghostfolio, verify that your instance supports the watchlist API.
Premium Required When Adding
Adding watchlist items requires Scaryfolio Pro. On Ghostfolio Cloud, Ghostfolio Premium may also be required by Ghostfolio for watchlist API access.
Cannot Find Remove
Remove actions are in the item's contextual menu. Touch and hold on iPhone or iPad, or right-click or Control-click on Mac.
Symbol Search Finds No Results
- Search by ticker symbol and company name.
- Confirm the symbol is available in Ghostfolio.
- Some securities may not be available from your configured data source.
