This article answers common questions about GameGoblin accounts, synchronization, library statuses, wishlists, achievements, widgets, and GameGoblin Pro.
Do I need to connect an account?
Yes. GameGoblin requires at least one connected gaming platform before you can enter the library. You can connect one account for each supported platform.
Which platforms are supported?
GameGoblin supports Steam, PlayStation, RetroAchievements, and Xbox. Support is capability-based, so some features differ by provider. For example, Xbox does not provide a GameGoblin Wishlist source.
Can I connect more than one account on a platform?
No. GameGoblin supports one account per platform. To switch to a different account on the same platform, disconnect the existing account first.
Why does Steam ask me to change privacy settings?
Steam game and achievement data cannot be imported when the required profile privacy settings are restricted. Set both My Profile and Game details to Public, then return to GameGoblin and try again.
Can I enter my Steam API key?
No Steam API key is required in the GameGoblin app. Steam sign-in starts in the system browser.
Does GameGoblin see my PlayStation password or passkey?
No. PlayStation sign-in takes place in the system browser. GameGoblin receives the authorization result needed to connect the account, not the password or passkey.
Can I add a game manually?
No. Games come from connected platform catalogs and account libraries. GameGoblin does not provide a general in-app store search or free-form game entry. Custom guide links can be added from a game's Guides section.
Why did a game move to Now Playing?
When synchronization finds recent provider play activity, a new game or a game in Wishlist or Backlog moves to Now Playing. A game already in Done stays Done when it is played again.
Why did a game move to Done?
When GameGoblin has a complete achievement or trophy set and all required achievements are earned, a game in Now Playing or Backlog can move to Done automatically. Wishlist games are not automatically completed. You can disable completion automation for a game by manually moving a completed game out of Done.
What is the Ignored section?
Ignoring a game hides it from its normal lifecycle section without changing its underlying status. Synchronization continues to update the game. Restore it from the Ignored section to show it in the section represented by its status.
Why did a wishlist game disappear?
Wishlist is a mirror of the provider's wishlist for Steam, PlayStation, and RetroAchievements. Removing a game from the provider wishlist removes its Wishlist membership during the next successful mirror. It does not delete a game that is already Now Playing or Done.
Why does a wishlist item say that details are pending?
Wishlist IDs and catalog details are fetched in separate phases. Rate limits, provider availability, or an incomplete release date can leave a game waiting for details. Check Settings > Sync and try another sync later.
Why is an item Unreleased?
An exact future date, an approximate current or future year, a missing date, or provider text such as Coming soon is treated as Unreleased. The Released filter requires an exact date that has arrived or an approximate year that has fully passed.
Can I use release reminders on every device?
Release reminders are enabled separately on each device. They are off by default and use local notifications for visible Wishlist games with a confirmed future release date.
What does GameGoblin Pro unlock?
Pro unlocks connecting more than two distinct platforms, Library search and filters, additional sorting controls, release reminders, customization, larger game collections, and live widget content. Synchronization, existing account management, game details, achievements, guides, and core library controls remain available without Pro.
Does losing Pro delete my data?
No. A lapse does not delete accounts, games, achievements, guides, credentials, or synchronized preferences. Pro-only presentation controls temporarily use their defaults until access is active again.
Why is my widget out of date?
GameGoblin widgets use static snapshots prepared by the app. Open GameGoblin and allow it to update the snapshot. Widgets do not sign in, call providers, or load network images themselves.
How do I contact support?
Open Settings > Help > Submit a Support Request. Include the provider, device, OS version, GameGoblin version, and steps that reproduce the issue. Never include a password, passkey, Web API key, refresh token, or other credential.
