GameGoblin mirrors supported platform wishlists instead of maintaining a separate manual store list. This keeps Wishlist membership aligned with the provider account.
Supported Wishlist Sources
| Provider | Wishlist behavior |
|---|---|
| Steam | Mirrors the Steam Wishlist. The wishlist must be publicly visible. |
| PlayStation | Mirrors released products and unreleased concepts returned by the PlayStation store account. |
| RetroAchievements | Mirrors the provider's Want to Play list. |
| Xbox | No Wishlist source is currently available in GameGoblin. |
How the Mirror Works
During a platform sync, GameGoblin completes play and library work before applying that platform's Wishlist mirror. This means a game played after it leaves a provider Wishlist can become Now Playing before Wishlist membership is removed.
- A provider Wishlist addition appears in GameGoblin Wishlist after a successful sync.
- A provider Wishlist removal removes Wishlist membership after a successful sync.
- A failed or incomplete Wishlist request leaves the previous local Wishlist unchanged.
- A game that is Now Playing or Done is not deleted when its Wishlist membership is removed.
- There is no in-app store search or manual Wishlist add action.
Catalog Details and Release Dates
Wishlist IDs and catalog details are loaded separately. GameGoblin may fill in the title, description, cover, gallery, supported platform labels, and release information during a later enrichment phase.
Some provider release dates are exact calendar dates. Others are approximate years or provider text such as Coming soon. An incomplete date can remain eligible for a later catalog refresh.
Wishlist Filters
GameGoblin Pro adds the following filters to the Wishlist Filters menu:
- All Releases: Show every Wishlist game.
- Released: Show an exact date that has arrived or an approximate year that has fully passed.
- Unreleased: Show future dates, current or future approximate years, missing dates, and text-only dates.
Title search, platform filtering, and release filtering can be combined. The stored platform and release choices return when you revisit the section; title search resets when you change sections.
Release Reminders
Release reminders are device-local notifications. They are off by default and require GameGoblin Pro and notification permission.
Eligible games
GameGoblin schedules one notification at 9:00 AM local time on the day before each visible Wishlist game with an exact future release date.
Reminder limits
GameGoblin schedules the nearest 60 eligible releases so room remains for other notification types. Year-only, missing, approximate, or text-only dates do not qualify.
When reminders change
GameGoblin reconciles reminders when the title, release date, visibility, status, Wishlist membership, connected account, or reminder preference changes. Turning reminders off, disconnecting a platform, or using Reset All Data removes GameGoblin's release-reminder requests.
Wishlist Troubleshooting
Steam Wishlist is unavailable
Open Steam privacy settings and make sure the Wishlist is visible. A private Wishlist is reported as unavailable rather than as an empty Wishlist.
Wishlist details are still pending
Open Settings > Sync to see awaiting-detail progress. Provider rate limits or an unavailable catalog response can delay enrichment. Try a later sync rather than removing and reconnecting the account.
A reminder did not arrive
- Confirm GameGoblin Pro is active.
- Confirm release reminders are enabled in Settings > Notifications.
- Allow notifications for GameGoblin in system settings.
- Confirm the game is visible in Wishlist and has an exact future date.
- Remember that reminders are scheduled per device and are not synchronized.
