GIF Vault offers several flexible ways to import your favorite animated GIFs and static images into your personal collection. Depending on your device (iPhone, iPad, or Mac), you can choose the method that fits your workflow best.
How to Import Media
To import a GIF or image, tap the Add (+) button in the top-right corner of the navigation bar. You will be presented with a menu of options:
1. From File
This option opens the system document picker. You can browse local storage, iCloud Drive, or other connected cloud services (like Dropbox or Google Drive) to select and import one or multiple image/GIF files at once.
2. From Photo Library
Opens the native iOS photo picker. You can browse your camera roll, albums, and shared folders. You can select and import up to 20 items at a time.
3. From Clipboard
If you copy a GIF, image, or video link/file from Safari or another app, tap "From Clipboard" to instantly paste it into your vault.
- If you copy a video file, GIF Vault will automatically convert it into an animated GIF!
4. From URL
If you have the direct link to a GIF on the web (e.g., https://example.com/animation.gif), paste it here. GIF Vault will download and save it directly to your vault.
5. From Video Library (Pro Feature)
Have a short video on your device that you want to turn into a loop? Select "From Video Library" to choose a video and convert it.
iPad & Mac: Drag and Drop
If you are using an iPad in split view or a Mac running macOS (via Mac Catalyst), you can simply drag any image or GIF from your web browser, finder, or another app and drop it directly onto the main vault window to import it instantly.
