Welcome to GIF Vault, your ultimate companion for organizing, securing, and sharing your favorite GIFs and images. Whether you want to quickly retrieve a reaction GIF during a chat, safeguard personal images, or keep everything neatly categorized, GIF Vault provides a seamless experience across iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.
The Main Vault Interface
When you launch GIF Vault, you are greeted with your Vault. The user interface is clean, modern, and designed to keep your media front and center:
- The Toolbar: At the top of your screen, you'll find the Sort button (left) to change how your GIFs are arranged, and the Add (+) button (right) to import new media.
- The Search Bar: Pull down on the main screen to reveal the search bar. Search filters your collection by tag name; it does not search notes, filenames, or image contents.
- The GIF Grid: A beautiful, dynamic masonry layout that shows previews of all your stored GIFs and images.
Sorting Your Collection
Tap Sort and choose Date Added, Last Used, or Number of Uses. Open an image and scroll to Info to see its dimensions, file size, date added, usage count, and last-used date when available.
Setting Up Sample Data
If your vault is empty, you don't have to start from scratch! During your first-launch tutorial on iPhone or iPad, the app will ask if you would like to download some sample GIFs. Tapping "Sure!" will fetch a few high-quality, popular reaction GIFs directly from Giphy so you can start testing out the app's features right away.
Using Your Vault on Multiple Devices
GIF Vault Pro users can enable iCloud Sync to keep GIFs, images, titles, notes, tags, and usage history up to date across iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Open Settings, find the Sync section, and tap iCloud Sync on each device. All devices must use the same iCloud account.
If your devices already contain different collections, GIF Vault combines them and removes exact duplicate images while preserving their organization and usage history.
