The Sort button in the main Vault toolbar changes how your collection is arranged. Choose from:
- Date Added: Recently added items appear first.
- Last Used: Items you used most recently appear first.
- Number of Uses: Your most frequently used items appear first.
GIF Vault uses a masonry-style grid, so the visual arrangement may vary slightly to keep the layout balanced.
What Counts as Using an Image?
Usage history is updated when you:
- Copy an image to the clipboard.
- Complete an action from the system share sheet.
- Drag an image out of the main grid or Detail View.
- Choose an image from the GIF Vault keyboard.
Sending an image through the GIF Vault iMessage app does not currently change its usage count.
Viewing Item Information
Open an image and scroll to Info to see its dimensions, file size, date added, number of uses, and last-used date when available. With iCloud Sync enabled, usage history syncs with the rest of the item. Your chosen sort order remains specific to each device, while the keyboard on that device follows the main app's current order.
