GIF Vault makes it incredibly easy to copy, zoom, and share your stored GIFs to other apps and services.
Viewing a GIF in Full Screen
To view a GIF in its full size and resolution:
- Tap on any GIF in the main Vault grid to open its Detail View.
- Tap directly on the GIF's preview image card.
- The image will open in Full-Screen Mode with a black background.
- Zooming: You can pinch to zoom (supporting up to 3x zoom) to inspect specific details in the GIF or image.
- Exit: Tap anywhere on the screen to close the full-screen preview and return to the Detail View.
Quick Actions in Detail View
Directly below the full-screen preview card in the Detail View, you will find three main action buttons:
1. Copy to Clipboard
Tap the Copy button. This copies the image file data directly to your device's system clipboard.
- Once copied, you can navigate to another app (like Messages, Slack, WhatsApp, or Discord), press and hold its text field, and tap Paste.
2. System Share Sheet
Tap the Share button. This opens the standard iOS/macOS Share Sheet, enabling you to:
- Send the GIF via AirDrop to nearby Apple devices.
- Post it to social media apps or attach it to emails.
- Save the file to your device's local directories or iCloud files.
- Perform custom system actions supported by other installed apps.
3. Delete
Tap the Delete button (highlighted in red) to permanently remove the image from your vault.
Other Ways to Use an Image
On iPad and Mac, you can drag an image from the main grid or its Detail View and drop it into another app. On iPhone and iPad, you can also long-press a grid item for quick Copy and Share actions.
Viewing Image Information
The Info section in Detail View shows the image dimensions, file size, date added, number of uses, and last-used date when available.
